iciHaiti - Humanitarian : 48th meeting of Haiti Action Network

This week at the Marriott Hotel, Aviol Fleurant, Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, was the guest of honor at the 48th meeting of the Haiti Action Network, where it was question of sharing the good management of major natural hazards, as well as lessons learned from the tragedies caused by them.
In his remarks of circumstance, the Minister affirmed that the frequency of disasters as much as their economic and social impacts having increased in Haiti as elsewhere, affirmed "If it is true that the natural disasters are inevitable, common actions can diminish the impact [...] the success of any post-disaster management depends on its integration into the existing development strategy and the design of good prevention measures."
In conclusion, he reiterated the Government's support for humanitarian actors, particularly Haiti Action Network, because "[...] only a national and international community united in their efforts can confront the forces of nature."
