As of Monday, April 30, 2018, the members of several organizations of planters and notables of the locality of Barrettes (Petit-Goâve) announced at the microphone of the radio Préférence, a series of demonstrations on the national road #2 in view to force the central authorities to clean the 14 rivers of the South zone of Petit-Goâve in anticipation of the hurricane season which begins on June 1st.

"We will win the streets very early and we will spend the whole day on the national road #2 until equipment is sent to us for the sanitation of Barrettes," say residents very motivated against the inaction of the government.
