iciHaiti - MICT : Payment of 18 months of salary arrears out of 24

Friday, the Ministry of Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) has paid a tranche of 17 million gourdes, consisting of 6 months of salary arrears, to the employees assigned to the maintenance and cleaning of public squares in the metropolitan area.

With this second installment, which follows a previous disbursement last December for these employees, the State honored a total of 18 months of salary arrears, over 24 months that were payable. The last six months will soon be paid and will put an end to all of these arrears.

At the same time, the Ministry of the Interior is gradually carrying out the formal transfer of the management of the public squares of Pétion-ville, Delmas, Tabarre and Port-au-Prince, in particular to their respective Town Halls.
