iciHaiti - Road safety : The Senator Jean Renel Sénatus writes to the PNH DG
Faced with the growing number of fatal traffic accidents and in the middle of the summer season, Senator Jean Renel Sénatus (Ligue Dessalinian - LIDE) wrote Wednesday (August 1st) to Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) to ask him to increase the police presence on national roads to prevent accidents.

Letter from Senator Jean Renel Sénatus :

"[...] Mr. Director General,

I make my courtesy and hasten to bring to your attention that on Saturday, July 28, 2018, I personally saw several traffic accidents on the national road #1, from Canaan to Luly, Arcahaie. A significant number of human lives, nearly a fortnight were washed away, either by the negligence, carelessness or inattention of our drivers.

Knowing that during all the rest of the summer period, cultural activities will be organized everywhere throughout the Republic and particularly on some beaches of the Department of the West, I would ask you the Director General, to kindly instruct your troops of the Central Directorate of Police Road (DCPR) to maximize police prevention by their visible and accented presence on national roads. Still in the perspective of protecting the lives and property of our fellow citizens [...]"
