iciHaiti - Security : 31 accidents 90 victims last weekend
According to the Haitian organization According to the Haitian organization stop accidents (STOP-accidents), the balance of the last weekend (25,26 August), made in partnership with the National Ambulance Center and the Haitian Red Cross, amounts to 31 accidents, 75 wounded and 15 dead on the scene or at the hospital.
Garnel Michel, the Coordinator of STOP-accident points out that 82.4% of these accidents are caused by motorcycle drivers who do not respect the security measures and who violate the rules of the road traffic.
In addition, he encourages the Car Insurance Agency Against Tiers (OAVCT) to work with hospitals in Haiti to provide reliable statistical data on road accidents in Haiti.
