iciHaiti - Security : Deployment of more than 1,000 civic brigadiers for back to school
Nirva Chéry Lapommeray, Deputy Director of the Department of Civic Action at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) announced this week, the deployment and strengthening of the Civic Action Brigade in the streets to protect schoolchildren during the next school year (September 3).

Remember that the Civic Action Brigade, under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth, brings together young girls and boys volunteers between the ages of 18 and 22 who perform citizen engagement activities during 2 hours of service a day. The young brigadiers help children, elderly people, people with reduced abilities to cross the street in peace and are trained to provide first aid to people in danger on public roads.

Nirva Chéry Lapommeray, indicated that "For the new school year 2018, more than 500 brigadiers will be deployed in 20 zones in the metropolitan area and more than fifty brigadiers in each department".

In addition, for the reopening of classes, the Ministry intends to strengthen this year the departmental directorates, by hundreds of called in civic service, already present in the departmental directorates (except in the Central Plateau), in order to make more effective the intervention with students.

The resigning Minister of Youth Régine Lamur, takes the opportunity to salute the citizen commitment of each brigadier and applaud the various interventions throughout the national territory of the brigade which performs an excellent job of promotion of civic and patriotic values.
