Members of the Dominican Army (ERD), attached to the 3rd Infantry Brigade in San Juan de la Maguana, seized 103 packages of marijuana weighing approximately 629 pounds (285 kg) as well as a certain amount of money in Pesos and Gourdes and proceeded to the arrest of a man of Haitian nationality during this operation whose identity was not disclosed.

In a statement, the army said the operation follows investigations by the intelligence services (J-2) of the new unit of intervention inter-army "Cerco Fronterizo" (composed of 360 members) launched last month in coordination with the Commanders of the different brigades stationed in the border zone with Haiti.
