iciHaiti - Social : 130 Haitian boat-people intercepted off the Bahamas

The Royal Bahamas Defense Force intercepted January 5 off the Bahamas archipelago, which has more than 700 islands and islets, an overcrowded 33-foot boat with 130 illegal Haitian migrants attempting to land illegally on the Bahamian territory.

According to the Royal Bahamas Defense Forces, the boat that had been spotted in the Man O-War Cay and Scotland Cay areas was towed to the government wharf in Marsh Harbor, where the migrants were handed over to the immigration authorities for identification and further investigation prior to their deportation to their country of origin.

This is the 3rd boat of Haitian migrants intercepted since January 1, 2019.
