On February 1, the Supreme Voodoo Chief (Ati), the Hougan Joseph Fritzner Comas elected on February 27, 2016, was dismissed for violating the rules of the KNVA "Konfederasyon Nasyonal Vodouyizan Ayisyen" following several complaints and warnings of repeated administrative penalties.

KNVA's press release states that as of that date the Hougan Joseph Fritzner Comas "no longer has the right to speak, to act on behalf of KNVA and to receive any form of aid, subsidy and materials intended for the development of the institution [...]

Following this decision, Hougan Ismaite André, a religious and cultural affairs worker, will assume the acting role for the next 90 days, pending the election of a new ATI.
