iciHaiti - Demonstrations : Cancellation of pre-Carnival activities in Jacmel and Cap-Haitien
After Port-au-Prince, Pétion-ville and Croix-des-Bouquets https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26883-haiti-notice-cancellation-of-pre-carnival-activities.html , it is the turn of the Municipal Council of Jacmel and Cap-Haitien to cancel the activities planned this Sunday, February 10 because of tensions and violent demonstrations throughout the national territory.

Jacmel :
"The Municipal Council of Jacmel, after consultation with the Permanent Bureau of the Carnival and other related actors, informs the general population and revelers in particular that the pre-carnival exercise of Sunday, February 10, 2019 is canceled for security reasons. This circumstantial respite will allow a better preparation of the carnival parade. May the spirits calm down and may God watch over Jacmel and Haiti."

Cap-Haitien :
"The Municipal Council of Cap-Haïtien brings to the attention of the general public and revelers in particular that the official launch of pre-carnival activities in the second city of the country for this Sunday, February 10, 2019, is canceled until new order because of the current social-political unrest. The Communal Administration of Cap-Haïtien, hopes that the highest authorities of the country will make the necessary arrangements to ensure social peace throughout the territory."
