Wandy Charles, the Communications Director of the National Office of Identification (ONI) announced that with the introduction of new equipment at the cutting edge of technology and new computer servers "the next National Identification Cards (CIN) will no longer be copied or falsified by counterfeiters," stating that this new built-in smart card, will be multi biometric [fingerprint facial recognition and iris].

This triple system of recognition will not only strengthen the security of the citizen, but will also guarantee the right of people with disabilities who can even witout arm or blind possess a national identification card allowing them to be identified by at least one of the 3 integrated systems.

This new card will be polycarbonate with a life of 10 years, much stronger than the current one made of cardboard and plastic.
