Tuesday, the Academy Goncourt unveiled the names of the finalists of Goncourt of the First Roman and Goncourt of the Novel, Prizes that will be awarded on May 7, 2019.

Finalists of Goncourt of the Novel 2019 :

Good news, the Haitian writer Yanick Lahens with his collection "L'oiseau Parker dans la nuit" Editions Sabine Wespeiser, is among the 3 finalists for the Goncourt of the Novel.

The novels of this collection tells the daily life in Haiti, the tragedies, the violence (urban or rural), the secular beliefs, the courageous women and the enduring men of this island-world that Yanick Lahens does not stop staging in his artwork...

The two other finalists of Goncourt of the Novel 2019 are :

Caroline Lamarche (Belgium), with "Nous sommes à la lisière " Éditions Gallimard ;
Éric Neuhoff (France) with "Les Polaroïds", Editions du Rocher.

Finalists of the Goncourt of the First Roman 2019 :

Prune Antoine with "L’heure d’été", Editions Anne Carrière ;
Isabelle Dangy with "L'atelier du désordre", Edition Le Passage ;
Marie Gauthier with "Court vêtue", Gallimard ;
Philippe Joanny with "Comment tout a commencé", Editions Grasset ;
Stéphane Malandrin with « Le mangeur de livres », Edition Seuil.

Born in December 22, 1953 in Port-au-Prince, the writer, novelist Yanick Lahens, engaged in the social and cultural development of Haiti, brushes without complacency the picture of the Caribbean reality in each of her novels.
