iciHaiti - Environment : An important Haitian delegation in Jamaica
A delegation from the Haitian private sector led by the Ministry of the Environment participated in the Preparatory Workshop for the Private Sector of the Caribbean Region, for access to the "Green Climate Fund" (GCF) which took place in Montegobay, Jamaica, from April 2 to 4.

The Ministry of the Environment, as the designated national authority for the GCF, was represented by James Cadet, Director of the Climate Change Directorate, accompanied by Dr. Jacky Pau, National Readiness Program Consultant.

Several personalities from the private sector of Haitian affairs were present at this activity. among others: Grégory Brant Coordinator of the Private Sector Economic Forum and President of the Franco-Haitian Chamber of Commerce (CCFH); Gérard Paul-René Gattereau, Honorary President of the South Chamber of Commerce and Serge Petit-Frère, representative of the Haiti Financial Corporation for Development S.A.

While welcoming the presence of the Haitian private sector in this regional workshop, the Ministry of the Environment encouraged it to work with the Government, in the execution of projects designed, to strengthen the resilience of the country to climate change. A request that falls within the framework of the call for collaboration launched by the Minister of the Environment Joseph Jouthe to the Haitian Private Sector, mutuals and cooperatives, NGOs and Private Investment Banks.
