As part of the commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of the struggle of women in Haiti (April 3), the Office of Citizen Protection (OPC) organized this week a conference-debate on the theme "Women's struggle in Haiti, advances, challenges and perspectives."

This activity, with the participation of representatives of feminist organizations, students, civil society organizations, members of the Young Protectors Club is also to greet the memory of all those who took part in the March 3rd march. 1986.

In her remarks, Yolande Moyard Joseph, Coordinator of Territorial Presences, outlined the OPC's actions in the area of women's empowerment, noting that nearly 45% of the OPC's staff are women.

Martine Irgie Dorcélus and Rachelle Louissaint, two gender specialists, took part in this conference on women's struggle in Haiti.
