The demonstrations and riots last February that caused the temporary suspension of many airline flights, the withdrawal of several major tour operators, the closure of tourist infrastructure and the issuance of several alarmist warnings to travelers, are responsible today of Haiti's isolation on the world tourist map.

Following this dramatic situation Marnatha Irene Ternier, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, spoke with Jean Claudy Pierre, the Minister of Planning and the Mayor of the commune of Carrefour, Jude Edouard Pierre to make an update on Haiti's "exclusion" situation from the world tourist map and consider strategies for reintegrating the country into tourist circuits with the participation of the diaspora and its elected representatives.

Note that so far the United States (among others) still has not reduced the Level of Traveler Alert which is at its maximum (level 4) which "recommends not to travel to Haiti because of civil unrest".
