Members of the "Cerco Fronterizo" Task Force and Intelligence supported by Dominicans in Border Surveillance, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), during migration control operations at the border points of Jimaní, Elias Piñas, Pedernales and Dajabon, arrested during March, 9,861 Haitian citizens on the Dominican territory where they resided irregularly, including several hundred Haitians intercepted in vehicles in the provinces of Santiago, Barahona, Bani, San Cristóbal and Azua.

During operations, members of the military agency deployed drones and helicopters and other sophisticated equipment to monitor and detect illegal Haitians.

After registration our compatriots were repatriated to Haiti by immigration officers by different border posts. According to the DGM, all Haitians repatriated to Haiti had the status of irregular migrants.

Recall that since the beginning of the year more than 33,000 Haitians have been deported to Haiti or returned to the border.]
