iciHaiti - DR : 657 Haitians deported to Haiti
As part of the ongoing actions of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), to regulate the presence of foreigners residing in irregular migratory situation in the Dominican territory, control operations have been carried out in the provinces of : Azua, Duarte, La Vega, Monte Plata, Santiago de Caballeros, Puerto Plata and Valverde, as well as in different sectors of the National District and Municipalities of Santo Domingo North during which 869 Haitians have been controlled.

The migratory control teams were composed of inspectors, agents of the (DGM) with the support of the military, the National Police in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Provinces concerned.

After the verification process 657 compatriots (75.6%) were declared in irregular migration situation and transferred to the border posts of Dajabón and Elías Piña to be registered and deported to Haiti.

Lieutenant General Máximo William Muñoz Delgado Director General of the DGM recalls that the operations of control of foreigners will continue throughout the Dominican territory in accordance with the provisions of the General Law on Migration 285-04, which regulates migratory flows on the territory of the Dominican Republic.
