According to the former Director of the National Ambulance Center, Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian Organization Technical and Operational Services for Accident (STOP-Accidents), from April 5 to Sunday, April 7, 29 road accidents have made 106 victims of which 91 injured (15 under 30) and 15 dead.

Garnel Michel said that these accidents occurred particularly on the Côte des Arcadins, Jacmel, Bon Repos, Léogâne and Petit-Goâve and reiterated its appeal to motorists and pedestrians to be cautious and the authorities concerned to assume their responsibilities in taking the necessary measures to limit the number of traffic accidents.

Note that the Central Directorate of Road Police has less than 500 agents to cover the entire national territory in addition to a lack of equipment and training...

This assessment was conducted in partnership with the National Ambulance Center and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of resources, the STOP-Accident organization is unable to monitor the state of health of the wounded, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.
