iciHaiti - Pétion-ville : Success of the agro-artisanal and gastronomic fair

As part of the celebration of the Feast of Agriculture and Labor, thousands of visitors from the metropolitan region and elsewhere participated in the agro-artisanal and gastronomic fair that took place in Pétion-ville on the Saint Pierre Square on May 1st and 2nd, 2019.

In a festive atmosphere of animations, exhibitions, information sharing and tasting, around the theme "Ann kore pwodiksyon nasyonal la pou kwape lavi chè", this Fair has given the opportunity to several local producers and artisans, toi exhibit their products reflecting the identity of the terroir.

Several institutions working in the creative field, including "Ruthnylove creation" and in the agricultural sector including the National Institute of Coffee of Haiti (INCAH) and the Haitian Poultry Association (AAVIHA) grouping Haiti Broilers, the Small farm, Farm Flamboyant and others, who participated in this fair to sell and boast about the quality of their products, expressed their satisfaction and acknowledged that they had made a great financial profit from this activity by selling their products.

According to the agronomist Jean Elie Philogène, West Departmental Director of Agriculture, this Fair was part of the dynamic of analyzing and exploiting the agricultural potential of the West Department and raising awareness of the population on the need to consume local products, saying "Agriculture is a promising sector".
