iciHaiti - Cabaret : Reinsertion of women and minors
As part of the project "Access to Justice and the fight against Impunity in Haiti" (AJULIH) "Kri Fanm Ayiti" (KRIFA), an organization working in the fight for the respect of the rights of women and girls in Haiti in partnership with Lawyers Without Borders Canada (LWBC), recently launched the project "Preparation and Accompaniment to the Reintegration of Women and Minors Held in the Cabaret Women's Prison (Borough of Arcahaie, West Dept)". The goal is to enable prisoners to live a dignified life after release.

A set of learning activities such as bookbinding, tiling and detergent product training are planned as part of this project. Through this program, KRIFA wants to lay the foundations of the culture of rehabilitation in Haiti to reduce the rate of recidivism and general delinquency.

This project in the Cabaret Women's Prison will be implemented over a period of one year. Specifically, it aims to raise awareness and provide support to women and minors detained in the Cabaret Women's prison in order to better manage the period of integration after freedom. Among other things, they will receive psychological and social assistance for their integration into the labor market. Follow-up will also be done for those who will be released during the project. After their release, they will have the opportunity to continue to follow the various trainings, and KRIFA members will help them to set up a small business that will have a big role to play in their process of integration and social reintegration.
