As part of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense, Major Lener Renauld Coordinator of the National Commission for Fight against Drugs (CONALD) declared :

"As the United Nations opens this new page in the fight against drugs, the National Commission seizes the opportunity to renew its confidence and its considerations to all Haitian actors involved in this titanic struggle in the fight against drugs benefit of all, but certainly in the interest of the Nation, recalling "[...] to effectively combat this scourge, it is necessary for the institutions responsible for criminal justice, health and social services to provide integrated solutions in line with the international conventions on the control of drugs to human rights obligations and sustainable development goals [...]"
