The Canadian Ambassador at the end of the mission, André Frenette, during his last meeting this week with President Jovenel Moïse, had the opportunity to highlight the ties of friendship that unite the two countries and discuss issues of interest including the protection of human rights and the importance of following up on the recommendations of the Minujusth Report on the November 2018 Saline Massacre to ensure justice will be rendered.
Ambassador Frenette said Canada remains concerned about the ongoing violence and human rights violations in areas affected by the presence of armed gangs, including La Saline, which killed more than 20 people during the month of July https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28282-haiti-news-zapping.html and took the opportunity to offer the condolences of Canada to the families of the latter victims.
