Dominicans arrested the driver of an ambulance (Roque Montero) from a hospital in Vallejuelo, San Juan province, while carrying a high-risk pregnant woman on board, with the emergency light bar activated and 4 Haitian illegal, in irregular migratory situation.

When questioned, Montero told the soldiers that he had met the foreign walking along the road and that he had wanted to help them by transporting them. However, the Haitians denied the driver's version and claimed that it required 2,000 pesos each to transport them.

Following these arrests, two officers got into the ambulance and went to the Alejandro Cabral hospital to drop off the pregnant woman and later he drove the ambulance, the driver and the 4 Haitians to the José María Fortress Cabral y Luna. The four Haitians were handed over to the inspectors of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), so that the agency organizes their repatriation to Haiti.
