Jean Michel Lapin, the Ministry of Culture has learned with emotion, the sad news of the death Thursday, August 8 at the age of 77 following a heart malaise, Roger Petit-Frère, political scientist, historian, professor of University, former Head of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS).

Born in Saint-Louis-du-Nord, Roger Petit-Frère was a fan of the "Tropicana d'Haïti" orchestra, which he studied as part of his master's thesis on "The ideology in music Haitian ". He has taught political science, the history of political ideas and the history of Haiti including the National Institute of Administration, Management and Higher International Studies, the ENS and the Faculty of Human Sciences.

Minister Lapin salutes the exemplary professional, academic career of the political scientist Roger Petit-Frère. "Through his teaching, his love for the country and his sense of accomplishment, he has been able to touch and serve as a model for student youth, the university community, and some of the Department's technical and political staff.

Professor Roger Petit-Frère's teaching led current students and executives to grasp key concepts in the Haitian reality, to develop their thinking skills and to adopt a critical posture. His teaching will continue to live and to advance culture and communication !

The professor and political scientist Roger Petit-Frère leaves to his students, to the university community, his close collaborators, his friends, the memory of an honest man, steeped in the love of Haїti. He has dedicated himself to marking, in his own way, the country that we want, a country where science, knowledge, culture and communication would contribute to the social, economic and cultural transformation to the benefits of Haitians and Haitians.
