iciHaiti - Security : Decrease of RTAs this week
Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accident (STOP-Accidents), informs us that from 26 to 1 September 2019, 21 accidents (- 40% compared to the previous week) on the roads of Haiti (Road traffic accidents - RTA), made at least 77 victims (-50.65%): 8 dead (-55.6%) and 69 wounded of which several seriously (-51.5%).

Gonaives, Les Cayes, Morne Calvaire, Pilgrim 9, Fort Michel (Mirebalais), Kadad (The Valley), Konassa (Cap-Haitian), Leogane, Morne Puilboreau, Délugé (Saint Marc), Saintard, Fond Verrette, Avenue Pouplard, Kenscoff... are the main towns and areas where these accidents were recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was made in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of resources, the STOP-Accident organization is unable to monitor the state of health of the wounded, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP Accidents reiterates its call for caution on our roads, and continues to ask the competent authorities to take measures to reduce the risk of accidents on the public highway.
