iciHaiti - Economy : The West Chamber of Commerce and Industry indignated
The West Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIO), in a note said to be indignated at the crisis of socio-economic and political governance that the country knows and which has greatly exacerbated in recent weeks.

The CCIO notes with concern that the failing situation of the distribution and retailing of petroleum products, far from improving, is only worsening in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince and throughout the territory, suffocating all sectors of the economy

The CCIO finds that Haiti is sinking daily into an endless crisis and that "its leaders are locked in a deafening silence. Those around the power or the opposition, so far do not manage to present themselves in a reliable and viable propositional force. They ONLY offer us degrading shows of destruction of state property and bursting repeated scandals."

Moreover, the CCIO took note that the 50th legislature did not decide on the advisability of adopting new amendments to the 1987 Constitution. Beyond the possible challenge of this approach due to the lack of confidence of which the parliamentarians suffer, the Chamber believes that the Haitian society must not make the economy of a serious debate around the necessity of a reorganization of our political system through an in-depth revision of the fundamental Charter.

The West Chamber of Commerce and Industry reminds President Jovenel Moïse, the members of the outgoing government and those called upon to replace them, as well as the parliamentarians, deputies and senators whom they have pledged to serve Haiti and its population, to respect its Constitution and its Laws as well as to guarantee its sovereignty and the well-being of all its citizens concluding "If you are not able to respect your commitments and obligations? have the humility and the courage to see it and to draw the consequences."
