iciHaiti - Economy : Local products excluded from the distribution channel
The Report of the Sectoral General States of the Nation (EGSN) Political, Economic and Sociocultural Governance. Diagnostics and Prospects for Reforms made public in March 2019, highlights the lack of access for local producers to formal distribution channels.

Indeed, the document indicates that existing stores are reserved for the sale of imported products, local production having other markets than markets associated with the informal economy. In addition, many obstacles stand in the way of any integration of this production into the formal economy, which is a brake on domestic production.

In other words, domestic producers must directly ensure retail sales to end consumers in markets (agricultural products, agro-industries), or in their workshops (furniture, clothing, footwear, etc...), or in a consumer network consisting of based on word of mouth.

Local producers do not benefit from the wholesale and retail distribution networks of small traders, supermarket chains or wholesalers that are related to importers.
