Jonas Coffy, the Minister of Trade and Industry reminds traders operating throughout the national territory, that in accordance with articles 1 and 3 of the Decree of September 19, 2018, they are required to write and display prices goods and services on Haitian territory in the national currency.

Minister Coffy specifies that according to the prescriptions of the amended 1987 Constitution of the Republic of Haiti (in its art. 6), the Haitian national currency is the Gourde.

Consequently, no payment for a transaction using the Gourde can be refused.

Violators of these provisions will be subject to coercive measures.
