On Monday, after four years of closure, the freshly renovated Jérémie Airport with its new runway 1,300m long and 25m wide reopened. It was also the official resumption of flight operations for the Haitian company Sunrise Airways between Port-au-Prince and Jérémie.

Jérémiens questioned on the return of Sunrise Airways in the department, did not hide their joy. Given the constraints related to land transport, this new link which puts Jérémie 35 minutes from Port-au-Prince, will undoubtedly attract tourists to the City of the Poets.
