iciHaiti - Thomonde : Savage violence at the Court of First Instance
On Thursday, the Thomonde Court of First Instance (Central Dept.) was the scene of savage violence by the TPI Justice of the Peace against a Clerk.
According to our sources, the incident erupted after Clerk Yolette Florent recommended that her colleagues maintain the strike notice. An attitude that put Me Wilfried Larivière the Justice of the Peace in charge of the TPI of Thomonde beside himself, which attacked the Clerk, hitting her savagely during a violent altercation, leaving Yolette Florent bloodied, injured in the face.
The Haitian National Association of Magistrates has called this violence "barbaric" and unacceptable within the justice system.
