In order to promote good nutrition, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID-Haiti) coordinates its investments, among others in the areas of health, food and agriculture, food assistance and social safety nets.

In Haiti, USAID introduced new techniques and practices to staple crops like rice, peas, corn, and bananas to help increase the amount of nutritious foods grown locally.

In partnership with the World Food Program (WFP), "Catholic Relief Services" and "World Vision", the US Agency continues to provide a situation of severe food insecurity.

To help beneficiaries overcome dependence on food aid, these programs also help entrepreneurs to achieve long-term success through microloans and savings groups, to increase their income and achieve financial autonomy.
