The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of October 12 to 18, 2020, 26 accidents on the national territory (+30% compared to the previous week) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-32028-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-20-accidents-73-victims.html made at least 59 victims (-19.1%): 8 deaths (-11.1%) and 51 injured (-20.3%) including several seriously.

Lévèque (Cabaret), Ennery, Bon repos, Nazon, Montrouis, Lamentin 52, Delmas 48, Giyano (Mirebalais), Carrefour, Léogane, Bergeaud (Cayes), Dlo Georges (Mont-Organisé) among others, are the main towns and areas where these accidents were recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service and invites road users to maintain responsible behavior to reduce the risk of accidents.
