iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 20 accidents, 73 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of October 5 to 11, 2020, 20 accidents on the national territory (-35.48% compared to the previous week ) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31974-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-31-accidents-82-victims.html made at least 73 victims (-10.97%) : 9 deaths (-47.06% ) and 64 injured (-1.5%) including several seriously.

No less than 4 capsized vehicles each made ten victims. This week the victims are under 50 years old, including a dentist and a child.

Hinche, Port-de-Paix, Montagne Noire, Delmas 33, Mombin Lataille (Cap-Haitien), Pignon, Arcahaie, Carrefour Turenne (Gonaïves), Turgeau, Delmas 89, Vialet, Lalue, etc... among others, are the main communes and zones where these accidents were recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service and invites road users to maintain responsible behavior to reduce the risk of accidents.
