iciHaiti - Safety : Road accidents claim an average of 73 victims each week 16/11/2020 10:09:01
On this World Stop Accidents Day invites Haitians to think of all the people who have lost their lives in road accidents, recalling that according to its statistics Haitian roads make an average of 73 victims per week (dead and injured) every week. According to the United Nations "Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death among children and young adults aged 5 to 29, while 90% of road victims are to be deplored in low-income or middle income." While pleading for better support for road victims and their families, STOP Accidents salutes the vital work of the pre-hospital and hospital emergency services in bringing relief to victims.
