iciHaiti - Safety : Road accidents claim an average of 73 victims each week
As part of the World Day of Remembrance for Victims of Road Accidents... (November 15) the Haitian Organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-accidents) salutes the memory of all road victims in Haiti.

On this World Stop Accidents Day invites Haitians to think of all the people who have lost their lives in road accidents, recalling that according to its statistics Haitian roads make an average of 73 victims per week (dead and injured) every week.

According to the United Nations "Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death among children and young adults aged 5 to 29, while 90% of road victims are to be deplored in low-income or middle income."

While pleading for better support for road victims and their families, STOP Accidents salutes the vital work of the pre-hospital and hospital emergency services in bringing relief to victims.
