Jean Walnard Dorneval Minister of Defense and the Armed Forces of Haiti (Fad'H) inform that the three individuals killed during armed clashes with the police in Canaan 3 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32683-haiti-flash-police-operation-against-fake-soldiers-in-canaan-several-dead-and-wounded.html were not soldiers but bandits who defied public order.
"No soldier would take part in acts contrary to the law, commit atrocities or ransom the population.
The army and the national police have jointly carried out this operation to arrest these individuals who pose as soldiers and who are causing panic in society.
Minister Dorneval and the Armed Forces of Haiti seize the opportunity to reiterate their unwavering desire to work to create a climate of peace in the country by ensuring border protection, territorial integrity and national defense."
