As a police source explained, someone left a backpack at the door of the diplomatic mission and left it there. After alerting the authorities, the federal police and the municipal police deployed a major operation with the help of firefighters. The authorities evacuated the scene and examined the item containing the explosives. According to federal police, a cursory inspection of the backpack gave a negative result, meaning that inside the bag there did not appear to be any device that could cause an explosion.
