iciHaiti - Culture : International Festival of Creole Literature
The Haitian Creole Academy (Akademi Kreyòl Ayisyen - AKA) participated in the official launch of the 3rd Edition of the International Festival of Creole Literature (Festival Entènasyonal literati kreyòl - FEL) which takes place from December 1st to 5, 2021 in several cities of the country. The festival's guest of honor this year is the writer Lyonel Trouillot.

Anivince Jean Baptiste, the President of the Festival declared that despite these difficult times all the writers and certain institutions joined the organizers. Stressing that one of the objectives of the FEL is to allow the public to discover the works of these writers.

Lyonel Trouillot, affirmed that there is a requirement of quality as regards Creole literature, not to fall into the trap since the Creole is "toutvoumsedo". The guest of honor of the Festival emphasizes that the Creole writers have an obligation to strive for excellence when writing in Creole.

Rogéda Dorcé Dorcil, President of AKA praised Lyonel Trouillot's contribution to Creole literature and affirmed that it was a great thing that the initiators opened this initiative to other Creole-speaking peoples in the Caribbean.
