iciHaiti - Weekly road report : Sharp increase in deaths on our roads
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from April 4 to 10, 2022, 42 accidents on national territory (+44.8% compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-36350-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-reduction-in-fatal-accidents.html made at least 212 victims (+48.2%): 19 dead (+72.7% ) and 193 injured (+46.2%) including several seriously...

Road of Solon Menos, Cabaret, Delmas 33, Haut Maribarou (Ouanaminthe), Pignon, Jacmel, Pétion ville, Petit-Goave, Haut Fournau (Port de Paix), Aquin, Duchity and Gonaives are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
