iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 27 accidents at least 139 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from April 25 to May 1st, 2022, 27 accidents on the national territory (-15.6% compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-36515-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-32-accidents-at-least-148-victims.html made at least 139 victims (-6.08%) : 11 dead ( -62%) and 128 injured (+ 7.5%) including several seriously...

Tara's, Petit-Goâve, Delmas 33, route des Dattes, Canapé-Vert in the department of the West, Duchity in the Grand'Anse, Cap-Haitien in the North and at Carrefour 44 (Aquin) are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents were recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
