On Friday June 3, 2022, investigators from the Bureau of Financial and Economic Affairs (BAFE), an entity of the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ), arrested 6 people (including 2 police officers) assigned to the staff of the Directorate of Penitentiary Administration (DAP) who are accused of embezzlement, breach of trust and fraud. They are :

Harold JEAN, Policeman (on BRH-PNH checks);

Julien VICTOR, Police officer (on BRH-PNH check);

Valérie ELCEA, Administrative Staff, Accountant (on PNH debit card);

Roger BRUTUS, Administrative Staff, Accountant (on PNH debit card);

Simone I. Maxime JEAN Administrative Staff, Head of Accounting (on PNH debit card);

Daniel Joseph ROMELUS, (Administrative clerk).

As part of the prosecution of the case, these people have been placed in police custody at the DCPJ and will be brought before the competent judicial authorities in the matter.

The Administration of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) says it is more than determined to fight corruption in all its forms.
