The young Haitian Daphecar Dorsainvil, (20), a student at the Lycée de Saint-Laurent du Maroni, who arrived from Haiti only 4 years ago, is one of two students from all of French Guiana to have been admitted to the prestigious Sciences Po University College.

Earlier this week Garry Assad, the Acting Head of Post of the Haitian Consulate in French Guiana, in the presence, among others, of Consul Orassin Romulu received Daphecar Dorsainvil and members of her family, following her admission to Sciences Po.

"After such a success obtained obviously thanks to the support of his teachers, it was important for us to testify to our young compatriot, accompanied by her mother and her little sister, our great pride, as well as that of the Haitian Government, ensuring her of the support of the Consulate for the success of her studies in Franc," said Garry Assad adding "Daphecar Dorsainvil is an example of determination and excellence for all the young people in our community."
