Sunday, September 4th, 2022, the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Public Health in the Dominican Republic informed that a Haitian who tested positive for monkey pox was located in San José de Ocoa.

According to Federico Soto, head of the public health epidemiology department, the Haitian citizen was immediately hospitalized in an isolation unit at the San José hospital until he recovered and tests were carried out.

Should be noted that this is the 8th case detected in the Dominican Republic (including 4 cases from the USA). Let's recall that the first case was detected on July 6, 2022.
