The National Police of Haiti North-West proceeded earlier this week in Port-de-Paix to the arrest of 12 individuals, several of them armed, accused of acts of vandalism and the looting of the premises of Caritas, located in Lavaud, the Office of Civil Protection, located in Haut Fourneau and the premises of the Myriam sisters...

It was during the rapid intervention of the police during the attack on the premises of the Myriam sisters by around fifty individuals that twelve of the looters were arrested, including two inside the premises themselves.

In addition, the police officers of the Office for the Fight against Narcotics Trafficking (BLTS) regained control of the Caritas premises and recovered several stolen objects abandoned by the looters near the NGO.

The Police would like to point out that there were no demonstrations but that they were organized gangs whose sole motivation was to loot warehouses and attack Catholic institutions.
