Luz Kurta Cassandra François, the Minister of Tourism, chaired this week an important meeting with the various stakeholders within the framework of the Sustainable Coastal Tourism program relating to the Integrated Regions of Territorial Development (RIAT-SUD) for a state of places of the projects which were to be carried out through this said program whose closing date is scheduled for this month of April. Studies that have not materialized will be reviewed and sent for future implementation.

Three major tourist infrastructures are being developed and will be inaugurated soon. These are the developments carried out at Cascade Tuyac (Port Salut), the Grottes Marie-Jeanne (Port-à-Piment) and the Place d'Armes d'Aquin in Aquin in the South department. The RIAT-Sud team, the Technical Execution Unit of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Ministry officials mentioned the need to form a committee and a management plan for these newly renovated sites.

It should be noted that this work is part of the process aimed at the optimal improvement of the offer in the South tourist destination which has been launched since 2015 with a view to serving not only the local population but also visitors when activities resume tourism in the Great South.
