iciHaiti - Peru : A bus falls into a ravine, 8 Haitians killed
Saturday January 28, 2023 around 3:00 a.m. an inter-provincial bus from the transport company "Q'Orianka Tours Águila Dorada" which was traveling on the Pan-American North road which connects the municipalities of El Alto-Los Órganos to the city of Talara in the North de Lima fell into a ravine at km 121 in an area called "the devil's curve" to crash 80m lower with 60 passengers on board (Peruvians, Haitians, Chileans and Colombians).
The exact cause of this tragedy is unknown, the driver having died in the accident. However, the route being very dangerous, a bad maneuver cannot be excluded.
The toll is heavy at least 25 dead including 8 Haitian citizens and many injured including several very seriously.
