iciHaiti - Environment : Launch of the Tree Season (Program)

Friday, April 14, 2023, at a press conference, the Board of the Promotion for Development Organization (PROMODEV) launched the 2023 Tree Season (April 15 to June 30, 2023) around the theme "Let's promote national production and protect the environment" and presented "the real tree and corn" as the plants of the year while the rabbit is the animal selected for this year.

A few dates to remember :

April 22: International Earth Day

May 1st: International Day of Labor and Agriculture

May 22: World Biodiversity Day

May 23: Maurice Sixto's birthday / Launch of the Music Competition on the theme "Ann Kore Pwodiksyon Nasyonal la"

May 26: Arbor Day / Mobilization in schools

June 5: International Environment Day / 23rd Anniversary of PROMODEV

June 24: National Day of Sustainable Reforestation and Relining

June 30: Prize giving to the winners of the Music Competition / Closing ceremony of the 2023 Tree Season.

Let's recall that Arbor Day is celebrated on the last Friday of May, while Haitians have a tradition of organizing reforestation activities on May 1 of each year.

Thus, PROMODEV asks decision-makers, citizens and organizations of society to mobilize the resources necessary for the full success of the Tree Season, in particular the realization of National Tree Day, with a view to to renew and intensify the vegetation cover of Haiti.
