The National Ambulance Center (CAN), sent us its summary statistical report, of the pre-hospital management of the various emergency cases carried out by the Center during the month of May 2023.

Of the 733 cases handled by the CAN in May 2023 (+4.41% compared to the previous month https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-39517-icihaiti-health-national-ambulance-center-more-than-23-interventions-per-day-april-2023-report.html ), 37% were transfers, 16% obstetrical emergencies, 10% traumas.

Types of interventions:

16 suspected cholera cases;

56 confirmed cholera cases;

54 cases of respiratory distress (not associated with Covid-19);

22 cases of chronic diseases (various pathologies);

115 obstetric emergencies;

46 Public Road Accidents;

269 transfers (references & laboratory tests);

74 traumas (injuries & fractures of varying degrees);

3 bullet wounds;

11 stab wounds;

2 burns;

65 various conditions (malaise, diarrhoea, fever, anemia, abdominal pain, etc.).

Of the 733 cases handled by the CAN: 537 interventions took place in the West, 71 in the Artibonite, 37 in the North / North-East, 23 in the South-East, 4 in the North-West, 39 in the South, 17 in Nippes and 5 in Grand'Anse.
