iciHaiti - Truce : Partial resumption of port services in Haiti
Employees of the National Port Authority of Haiti (APN) have partially resumed their work after a week of strike. The aim is to allow waiting ships to dock and unload their goods to protect the national economy, according to a statement from the union.

However, the workers have warned that the truce period could end next Monday if the authorities do not comply with their demands.

The main demand with the Ministry of Economy and Finance is the approval of the new financial director, pending for two months. They explained that this decision should facilitate the unblocking of transactions, the payment of obligations contracted with the company's partners, including the health insurance fund, the payment of salary arrears and the continuation and strengthening of the fight against corruption.

This is the second paralysis of port activities in less than a month, that of last June which blocked ships in Cap Haitien, following the kidnapping of Torcelle Pierre Richard Joseph, Regional Director North of the National Port Authority (APN).
