The Northern Haiti Destination Management Organization (OGDNH) in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture and the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN) had the original idea of organizing a Fanal competition.

The latter was very appreciated by the public who were able to discover the lanterns of established artists and others in the making during an exhibition at the OGDNH premises and a parade through some streets of the city of Cap-Haitien in last December https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-41150-icihaiti-cap-haitien-christmas-lantern-a-tradition-to-be-safeguarded.html

After deliberation on the lanterns submitted and exhibited, the jury rewarded the following artists :

These artists received the predefined Awards, a certificate as well as the compliments of the Executive Director of the OGDNH.
