iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : Christmas lantern, a tradition to be safeguarded
During the end-of-year holiday period, with its strong religious emphasis, the streets are particularly lively. Among all the Christmas decorations we find the lantern, a typical traditional Haitian object. These are small cardboard lanterns generally in the shape of a house, which when illuminated create a colored glass effect.

These objects, once very common, are becoming increasingly rare and with them is a century-old tradition that risks dying out. The Northern Destination Management Organization of Haiti (OGDNH) in its capacity as an informed cultural actor in the North, aware of the value of this heritage in danger, launches under the theme: "Fanal, restore and transmit this tradition to perpetuate it" a campaign to once again generate interest around this tradition.

Series of training extending over two days (December 8 and 9) in the premises of the Northern Destination Management Organization of Haiti (OGDNH), 72 Rue 18 F Cap-Haïtien and organization of awards and presentations The exhibition of the works created are on the program of this campaign.
